Plea ahead of Keighley Walk-in Clinic After Measles Tragedy

PARENTS and carers are being urged to get their children vaccinated at a walk-in clinic being held in Keighley.

The plea follows the tragic death of a child in Liverpool after contracting measles.

GP group Modality AWC is staging the clinic at the Airedale Shopping Centre this Thursday (July 17), between 9.30am and noon.

Modality GP Dr Zoyah Hussain, who has led a successful drive to improve uptake of children’s vaccinations over the past 18 months, says: “We are very happy about the increased take-up of children’s immunisations in Keighley, but there is more to do.

“Please pop in to the Airedale Shopping Centre on Thursday morning – we can provide advice and support to make sure your children are protected. If eligible, we can offer immunisations there and then.

“It was terrible news from Liverpool this week. Measles is a preventable disease – please get your children vaccinated.”
